Oh my God what a day! The clock is rollin up on eleven on a muggy Hump Day evening and I still haven't slept yet....not since Monday night. I told you in my entry yesterday that I generally don't like to head to sleep until everything I need to get done...is done. What can I tell ya...there just aren't enough hours in the day for me lately. Some day when I am Emperor of the universe one of my first orders of business is going to be to make every day 30 hours long. That way there will always be enough time to get things done....hopefully anyway. Don't panic on having to work longer days though. I plan to get rid of Mondays to balance things out. Let's face it, nobody really likes Monday anyway. So longer hours in every day, but one less day in every week. Everybody wins. Maaaan, I can't wait to be Emperor! Ha ha ha ha. Not to sound pessimistic, but since it might be a long while before that day comes, I am still going to continue to push myself every day to reach for my goals. I am definitely happy to report that despite the lack of sleep over these last few days, I managed to get in not ONE workout today, but a bunch of em.

After writing yesterday's blog at about 4am this morning, I headed downstairs to get my day moving with a quick cardio set (sit-ups, push-ups, squats, etc) before the sun even came up. Then, I met my good friend and neighbor Matt as always and we took our daily 6am, two-and-a-quarter mile walk to the LIRR station. Forced myself...and I do mean FORCED myself...to walk the 13-flights of stairs in my building not once, but twice during the day today (just for shits and giggles apparently). Then I capped my night off downstairs in my beloved man cave for another cardio circuit, followed by what my wise trainer and friend loving calls “dessert.” The “treat” in your schedule for a hard days work well done...and that's weights. I know I need the cardio alot more, but I do love lifting too. Strength, after all IS one of the four components of fitness, to go along with cardio, endurance and flexibility (that was really just so that my trainer Jonathan knows I was listening during all of our sessions...lol!). All in all a really good day. Definitely good on the fitness front...and I was careful at the table all day too. And now it is time for the future Emperor to get his hard-earned and much-needed rest.

Oh and by the way, before I sign off for the night. I am a creature of habit more or less. I've been playing it safe eating the same foods every day. I would LOVE to try some new ideas for healthy meals that are easy to make in the summer. If anyone has any suggestions, please feel free to tap the COMMENT key and share em...thanks in advance!

G'nite all...Until Tomorrow.
