Taking a Break
As I am typing this entry the clock has rolled past midnight...so even though this is still my post for Friday, it is technically now Saturday. I for one could not be happier to see this week come to an end. It has been one helluva ride for me these past few days folks, both physically and emotionally. I kicked this morning off in my office....on my day off I might add...watching a crew of guys empty out the place I have called my second home for the past 17 years. Yeah, that wasn't depressing at all...lol. Meghan is away for part of the weekend too...hangin upstate with Lori's family. She loves being with her cousins...and having a house on a lake to call home, even for a day or two, doesn't hurt either. So rather than sit home all mopin and depressed about my office being gone and my baby girl being away, I decided to just give myself the night off...from everything. I realize that might sound a little confusing to read, but it made total sense in my head....ha ha ha. It's the total truth though. Feel like I have been pushing myself pretty hard lately. At home, at work and in general.
It is definitely time for a little much needed and hard-earned down time. So like I said, I gave myself the night off...from the gym for starters. I told you yesterday, after all of the moving we have been doing at work...on little to no sleep I might add...I have been in pain pretty much every day this week. The knee is still throbbing, the back is still aching, the head is still pounding and the shoes are a wee bit snug....It is truly taking a toll on me. So as captain of this metaphorical ship that is my life, I decided to make an executive decision and give myself the night off. No walking, running, lifting or cardio for this warrior. I think everyne needs a break once in awhile...my sore old body is extremely grateful, that is for sure. I will try to relax and get a solid night's sleep...which is probably the best type of help I can give myself in this journey of mine right now...rest. Just for one day though. Tomorrow I will be up early and before I do anything else I will be going for a run and then heading down to the man cave once again. I'll let you know how it goes...
