It is always nice when I have one of those moments where I end up teaching myself a life lesson without even trying. It happened in regards to yesterday's blog. Last night when I sat down at the computer, my mind was anywhere but at that computer. I was tired, sore and had noooo idea what to write about. When that happens I find myself just playing with words in my head. Words that rhyme come to me pretty easy most times...and they are always fun to rattle off. Before you knew it...I had the makings of a "workout poem" on my hands. But should I actually post it? Hmmmm....that was the question. Would people think it was silly, cheesy, stupid even? Would I get laughed at or made fun of? Sometimes your own little insecurities can bring you right back to your childhood, ya know? Well I have to admit I came THIS close to playing it safe and not posting it. But as it turns out I am really glad that I did. At the last second I just bit the bullet and uploaded it...and over the last 24 hours I have gotten more responses from people on this particular blog post that probably any other I have written so far. I guess it IS worth it to just say "why not" and take a few chances once in awhile. Not a bad lesson to learn if I do say so myself. Think I might even be mixing in a few more poems every now and then too. As for tonight, my back is holding up well and I am back in the swing of things again.

Started this evening's workout with a nice, leisurely 2-mile run to get my heart pumpin. Mission accomplished there. If there is one thing that I really, really want to push myself to do on a more regular basis...it is without a doubt running. Even at the slowest of paces I feel like it has done more for me physically than any other exercise. After my run I found myself back in the basement for day two of my brand new start with the P90X system. Plyometrics...or "jump training" as it is also called...is one straight-up hour of intense, constant movement. It is the DVD I feel I got the most out of the first time I used it...and tonight was no different. The first week I was on P90x before hurting my back I swore it was just what I need to get myself to that "next level." I stand by that statement. Can't wait to see the finished product 3 months from now. Oh and a heads up for anyone looking for something a little different at dinnertime. Made baked chicken breast with a lemon garlic marinade (Lawry)...only 60 calories for a tablespoon...and it comes out AWESOME! Now it is time for me to get some much needed...and hard-earned rest. It is already getting late and my alarm definitely goes off early in this neck of the woods.

Have a good night all...until we meet again tomorrow...
