In yesterday's post I explained to you fine folks that I am a creature of habit. One that doesn't like change all that much either. That is absolutely, 100% true. HOWEVER, I do believe that while adapting to change can be pretty difficult for some, it is also a necessary evil sometimes as well. Take me for instance. At the moment, I am adjusting to a few new changes in my life. Maybe not perfectly, but I am adjusting. And that is all that matters, right? (sorta! - lol). Well on top of all the day to day stuff that I am going through right now....and on top of the fact that I reeeeaaaallly don't do well with change....I do believe there are some areas that I can and SHOULD change up for me personally. Over the past few years I have had some great, great success where my diet and exercise regimen are concerned. From the day I started until now I have lost nearly 200 pounds. I also have a much smarter and healthier outlook on life in general. Unfortunately, after pushing so far and so hard for so long I think there is a place we all get to where things start to "level off." I have had mixed responses from people in this area. Some believe...like I do....that your body can get used to doing the same old thing day in and day out....which in the long run is going to slow down the weight loss process.

Other people believe that if you stay active....no matter what you are doing....you will keep losing consistently. Well I don't buy it...sorry. That belief was solidified in me over the weekend, when I took part in a 3-mile, 10-obstacle course on Saturday...then lost NOTHING on the scale yesterday. UGH...stayed almost exactly the same. Could it be that my body is getting used to my routine and I need to change things up? Definitely. Is it also possible that I was so happy with my performance in the Warrior Dash that I didn't really pay attention to what I was eating for the rest of the weekend? I'm not saying it happened that way...but that IS possible too. Either way, the bottom line is that I feel it is time for a change. In the next few days I am going to be researching some new recipes that I can try out. Please feel free to suggest any of your favorites for me. Keep em healthy tho...thanks! I am also going to very happily tackle the P90X workout system that I got for my birthday (thanks again Barbara and Meg!). It is a very challenging program that takes place over a 90-day period (hence the "90" in the name....P90X)...but it is supposed to rip you up and re-build your body like no one else can. I like the sound of that, I have to say. And there you have it. Maybe sometimes a little change IS a good thing. The scale will get to be the final judge. I will keep you posted on my progress along the way!
