Wheeeeew, what a week. Another long, rough one just about in the books. The good thing about being so busy all week long is that the week has pretty much flown on by. It dawned on me a few minutes ago that in just about twelve hours from now I will be stepping onto the field of battle upstate at Windham..for The Warrior Dash. It is a date with destiny for me that has been a long time coming. I actually started training for the Dash in February of 2010. I was tipping the scales at 335 pounds then...down about 60 or so pounds from my heaviest weight ever...but sorta floating in the 330's,,,looking for a way to jump start my routine and my metabolism. When someone at work (think it was you Kimmy) mentioned taking part in something that summer called "The Warrior Dash," I looked into its website and realized that I had found exactly what I was looking for. I had 8 months to prepare for it back then. I set out on my own disciplined program, with my trainer and friend Jonathan by my side. Over that 8 months I lost over 100 pounds and learned a LOT about health, nutrition, and me as a person.

So 8 months go by...the Dash was just a few days away...and I thought I was as ready as I could ever be. Then one night out of nowhere...POP...and the next thing I knew I was down on my livingroom floor. Emergency hernia surgery put me on the shelf. Luckily for me everything that I had gone through over those 8 months saved my life (my surgeon told me my recovery was MIRACULOUS!). Unfortunately, I missed the Warrior Dash, Well it;s a year later now. Twelve hours to go until my unfinished business gets handled. I am happy to be in once piece for this one (so far...lol) and I am really, really looking forward to it. It will be a great way to honor all of the work that Jonathan and I put in together over the past few years. Sorry we aren't handling this together...I will do you proud! It is also an experience I am looking forward to sharing with some of my friends at PG who are also participating. And it will be yet another glorious reminder to myself of the things that you can accomplish in life if you really really commit to it. I am going to try to catch some sleep now...want to be rested and ready for this in the morning. With me luck...I will let you know how it goes!

Before I sign off, just wanted to say thanks to Barbara and Maria for your comments on my blog from yesterday about Belinda. Thank you both for being so supportive of my blog in general...and of that one in particular. I will be picturing her and Matt cheering me on there tomorrow!
