Long Walks and Much Love...
Ahhhhhh, there you are. Exactly where I hoped to find you! Before I begin today/tonight's post, I would like to take the time to say thank you from the bottom of my heart to all of the people who have been reading my blog, making such encouraging comments, and who have gone out of their way to be so supportive of me in general. When I decided to start writing a blog of my own it was really just for me personall in the beginning. I thought it would be a good idea to use it as a tool to help keep me honest in the gym, on the scale and at the table (turns out I was right too). I also saw it as a way to get things off my chest and keep my head clear. It is amazing how a negative atttiude can run you off course so quickly...especially when it is your OWN negative attitude. I have learned throughout the course of my life...and I know a lot of you can understand this...that sometimes battling the "demons" in your own head is the toughest battle of them all. So that is why I started blogging originally. I never actually thought that anyone would want to READ it! Ha ha ha ha...negative outlook, maybe...but the truth. As it turns out though, people HAVE been reading it...and enjoying it too...and that really means more to me than words can ever say. So thanks again. I will keep on writing and hopefully you will keep on reading. Are we a perfect match here or WHAT? Lol. Well it is getting pretty late and I am going to try to keep the rest of this as short and sweet as I am. Ha ha ha ha.
Today was a hectic one for me personally and I found myself running around even more-so than usual. Last stop of the night was my old stomping grounds in Ridgewood, NY. The place I called home for around 8 years. It is also the neighborhood where I met Lori, proudly watched Meghan spend the first years of her life, and where I made some friend and family connections that I am sure will last for the rest of my life. Well before I got to Ridgewood I surprised my mom with dinner at her rehab center of residence. I won't tell you what it was, but she loved it (and it wasn't bacon for anyone who is wondering...lol). I wasn't sure what time I was getting home tonight or whether or not I would get a chance for an actual workout...so I decided to go old school and walk from mom's place to my brother-in-law's house in Ridgewood. Still one of the easiest and best forms of exercise there is...walking. Three and a half miles for those of you playing at home. Add to that the two and a half miles I walked to get to the train this morning and that is some good cardio for the day. Not to mention, almost 900 calories burned off total. And that is not a guess-timate either. That is direct from...you got it...my ENDOMONDO app. I know, I know, I should own stock in it at this point. Hey, it works and I love it (thanks again Steve for the recommendation). Well the work for the day is put in, another blog entry is just about in the books and it is time for some rest. Still the one thing I am not getting enough of...so to speak.. :) Tomorrow I plan to be back in the gym, bangin weights and flippin cards...because no one is going to do it for me!
Thanks for stopping by...Same time tomorrow!
