WOW! Has it really been over a week since we were together last? It is truly amazing how quickly time has been passing lately. Minutes into hours...hours into days...days into weeks...weeks into months...months into years. All in the blink of an eye. Time really does seem to fly, doesn't it? Whether you're havin fun or not. I do apologize for my little lapse here. Got side-tracked with some personal issues of my own. As quickly as time passes...it is equally as easy to lose your place in what you are doing. But I am back now...on the straight and narrow again...and I promise to stay right here from now on. Hopefully there are a few people out there who will peek in on my ride from time to time. Anyway, this being my first day back in a little while, I'd like to catch you up on what I have been up to in my blogging-absence. Now while I haven't been blogging...I have definitely still been working. Don't you worry about that for a second. Over this past weekend I had a friend of mine tell me that she was just going to accept the way she looked and the extra weight she was carrying because she figures if she hasn't lost it yet then she is just "meant to be this way." Broke my heart to hear that...and I couldn't disagree with it more (I have offered my help to this friend by the way...and I really hope she takes me up on it). I am living proof that you can absolutely change how you look physically...and your outlook on life emotionally as well. And I did it at almost 40 years old...after what seemed like a dozen  lifetimes of bad habits. So the person I used to be is not the person I am now...and I can assure you that even if I miss a blog here and there, I will always keep myself moving forward. Speaking of which, I decided to change things up recently regarding my workouts. For the most part I have always worked out in the evening. It is just easier that way for me as far as my busy daily schedule goes.

Get up early, trek all the way into the city to work, work all day, trek all the way back home, spend some precious quality time with my family, and then...finally...sometimes in the wee hours of the evening...head down to the man cave for my workout. That had been the norm for me since we moved into the new house. Recently though, I felt that I needed a little change. So rather than work out late then go straight to bed, I thought I might try getting my workouts in first thing in the a.m. It requires getting up even before the crack of dawn. Hell, it feels like I am the one getting the roosters up so that they can get YOU up...lol. Been doing that for a week now and I have to tell you it has been great so far. I have been going to bed a little earlier at night...sleeping better too. Then I get in a good, solid hour of P90X...followed by a healthy breakfast and my 2 mile walk to the train to top it all off. A great way to get my metabolism going every day. I figure eventually I will get bored with the new schedule like I did with the old...and then it'll be time to change things up again. But for now, it's a fresh new approach...and just what I needed. Aside from the new workout schedule, this past week also gave me the great pleasure of watching my beautiful little girl Meghan turn 8 years old. We celebrated all weekend long between her birthday and Halloween. She is definitely MY child in that regard. Ha ha ha. She is also just simply amazing. Meghan is already smarter and more confident than I ever was at that age and I am soooo proud of her. I am thrilled to still be around to enjoy her and times like this remind me that all of the workouts, all the sleepless nights are worth it if it means keeping me in her life for even one extra day. Well that's about it for me. I think I have rambled on enough for one day, don't you? Feels really good to be back. Already looking forward to tomorrow!
